Preaching for preachers

Sun Apr 3, 2005, 2:00 PM
You know, the thing about preachers....they have this tendency to tell you how they think things are as the absolute truth....but that's their job; for sermons anyways; and that's the part that people tend to ignore: (behind close doors/anywhere but the pulpit) a good preacher will actually debate ideas with you, and every now and then they actually let you express your opinion without DAMNING you for it. Not that none of you have realized that; but most of you seem to think that preachers are nothing but that: open damnation of your personal beliefs. Sure you'll find holes in his sermon, but the guys doing pretty well having beliefs in the first place, much less talking about them in an interesting, provacative way, all while being scutinized by the congregation.

I mean, honestly, I can hardly sit still when my minister says something I think is totally wack. I can seriously see how people are turned off by a single utterance of one minister. But really now; whom is out of line in that situation: the preacher doing the nearly impossible, or youL jumping up and away in disgust at him being human.

Okay my lecture is done. Get about your amazing lives
